Taking a "stand" for yourself is important. Self-preservation and being yourself is also elemental, but in a society where individualism has overruled common courtesy for one's fellow living being, it's important to remember to take a seat ( #asana ) and pay homage to those around you. Taking a seat does not mean being passive, but rather means having the courage to be patient and observe yourself, things and others around you. We will never be where we are without acknowledging those that have helped us along the way. It's comical that the first thing that came to mind when I glanced at this photo is my breastfeeding experience. Ive become so attached to the bonding time breastfeeding offers that our 'weaning' plans over the last few months have felt gut wrenching. Today I woke up to find that my body has decided to stop producing milk. I cried and went through the variety of emotions like anger, resentment, and sadness. But as I drove my eldest to school I realized that the only thing that is constant in life is that EVERYTHING CHANGES and the best we can do is be present and appreciate the beauty around us in every tiny moment. Thank you @tizianolugli for reminding me that inner beauty shines through. Us women are so hard on ourselves! #inspirationgeneration; -
