We've been experimenting with other forms of movement lately. Pilates (really crack Pilates), calisthenics, functional movement...we've even been doing the Insanity workouts for the past week! But in these last two days filming with @codyapp, I've practiced for a total of 12 hours and, although I'm tired, I'm reminded of how much my body LOVES YOGA! It's not just the physical though, my mind is so present...I actually might be experiencing that Yoga high that made me fall in love with Yoga 17 years ago! #SelfReflection takes true strength and courage from deep within. To truly self reflect, one must be willing to be completely honest with one's self and those around them, without being attached to good or bad results. Looking in the mirror is easy for some, but maybe they are only seeing what they want/need to see, rather than what is truly in front of them. I'm struggling with this everyday, trying to be the best father, husband and yogi I can be. Anyone else feel this way sometimes??? Polka dots make me so happy! Being a child of the 80's, I remember having atleast 10 pieces of clothing in a variety of polka dot sizes and colors...including a ton of polka dot scrunchies too! Taking a "stand" for yourself is important. Self-preservation and being yourself is also elemental, but in a society where individualism has overruled common courtesy for one's fellow living being, it's important to remember to take a seat ( #asana ) and pay homage to those around you. Taking a seat does not mean being passive, but rather means having the courage to be patient and observe yourself, things and others around you. We will never be where we are without acknowledging those that have helped us along the way.
