It all starts with focus, effort and... a bad ass photographer who's committed to shooting it authentic and real. #CoverShoot #AtTheU #AlmaMata #BloodSweatAndRespect #WithASlightChanceOfBabyOil #Repost @rollingstone ・・・ “My shoot with #DwayneJohnson was exactly 60 minutes, we had 45 minutes to shoot his 45-minute workout, and get a cover shot. Johnson wanted to art direct as well as star in this cover feature. We were told we'd follow him as he did his workout, and he wanted "real" shots- nothing staged for the workout. I came up with a way to light him and be mobile and the next 45 minutes we tailed him as he moved from space to space in the gym. There was no communication as he was listening to his iPod. At the end we knocked out his cover shot, based on a moment of his workout where he chalked his hands. We still had two minutes to spare so I asked him to sit on the end of the bench and I made this image. A quick handshake and he was off just as the Miami Hurricanes Football team walked into the gym in awe of #TheRock.” As told to RS by photographer @ianspanier; -
