Be fierce...when your daughter allows. Today is our 10 yr old daughter's first basketball game. I planned on wearing these pants and cheering as loud as possible. But she tells me that is embarrassing. Yup, she's now at that age. So, I will wear a 'daughter approved' outfit and cheer, but not too loud. I think I'm a cool mom, but apparently, just saying that puts me in the 'trying too hard' category. Sitting on the golf course right now...thinking about how much I suck at golf. Then realizing that it doesn't even matter because life is so awesome that I CAN play golf. #thisismyyoga ... I am serious about my Yoga practice but my practice doesn't have to be serious. I practice when I can and welcome my kids (and dogs) to join in whenever. If I had it my way, I would practice at home all of the time (I hate being away from my kiddos). But my mom told me that when I'm away, if she tells #babysyd that I'm doing Yoga, he's cool with it. Our daughter turned 10 on Wednesday. I've spent most of the month updating her room and donating things she doesn't need anymore. I didn't realize how tough it would be for me. My daughter and I have a bit of a trauma bond (the result of a bitter custody battle), and having to get rid of old artwork and clothing made me realize that I have been carrying around so much baggage from the past. How can I recognize the beauty around me if I'm living in the past? As hard as it was to put away her 'baby' things, it has been extremely therapeutic and has allowed for me to be more present for her now....doesn't mean I'm not crying in my closet from time to time. #yogimom; -
As a girl, I admit, fashion makes me happy. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, got mad a my husband for no reason, threw on this pair of @liquidoactive leggings, practiced an amazing class, and still felt like shit. Post practice, I ran a few errands and atleast 5 women complimented me on my leggings. I didn't even notice how fun they were because my brain was so loud. As materialistic and slightly shallow as this sounds, my yoga pants made me happy. Do yours?; -
