Hospital update ️Feeling much better today They've unhooked my IV & pain meds ( good bye happy button) but I'm finally eating semi solid foods (& gummy bears) surrounded by all these lovely gifts ... AND I took a shower all on my own- feels like such an accomplishment today! If all goes well, I should be able to go home tonight ️ Still can't laugh but feeling good on my path to recovery Thank you all for the continuous messages of love & support every bit helps!; -
All things in due time. Telling myself this everyday (especially now). The Universe has great plans for you, you just need to #TrustTheJourney ; -

Day 87/100: Feeling so incredibly loved & fortunate today thanks to all of YOU. Thank you all so very much for your kind comments, texts, calls, & visits. They've made me SO happy today I've barely noticed the pain! (The happy button that dispenses my pain meds helps too haha but I swear it's mostly all of you!) And good news, I can stand on my feet & make it around the room with some help See, speedy recovery in progress So again, thank you all from the bottom of my appendix-less body & my heart ️ You sure know how to make a girl feel loved. PS. Totally using my lack of an appendix as leverage with Mama Starling so I can get a puppy #100HappyDays; -

Day 86/100: Didn't get to post last night because I was in so much pain. Did manage to take this picture though (shows how hopeful I was that my severe stomach pains were just an ulcer...) checked into Emergency Room number one at 9pm in pain. After poking prodding & blood tests they said I probably had appendicitis but would need a CT scan to verify. On to Emergency Room number two. Now in much more pain, more poking & prodding & needles (have I ever mentioned I'm scared of needles?) & blood tests followed by a CT scan... I was the lucky owner of an infected appendix An hour later at 1:30am in the worst pain I've ever felt they ushered me in to prep for surgery. This is probably a good time to mention how much I dislike hospitals. It's hard for me to visit people in hospitals let alone be the one admitted... I was terrified. I've never been through surgery, never slept at a hospital. But the always amazing Mama Starling stood by my side until they ushered me into the OR. And as she pointed out, at least I looked nice because I got my hair & nails done earlier in the day - the eternal optimist that one. So. Surgery went well they say. I woke up in the recovery room at 4:30 in a daze with a little button to push whenever I felt pain. And who would not call this a happy day? I am ALIVE. The human body is resilient & I am strong. The doctors said I should recover quickly because I eat clean & work out Feeling extremely blessed that it wasn't something worse, that I have access to good clean hospitals, & amazing people in my life #100HappyDays; -

Day 85/100: Happy Father's Day to the man who helped raise me into the woman I am today. The man who insisted I could do it even when I thought I couldn't. The man who encouraged me to play any and every sport I wanted. The man who taught me that I can do whatever a man can do, & quite often, I can do it better. The man who taught me what it truly means to be a "Rogers" ️ It seems that I will always be Daddy's Little Princess. In this picture we're completing one of many many marathons. My love for working out stems entirely from my dad who used to drag me out of bed at 5am when we were on vacation so we could run a few miles in the sand haha I didn't appreciate it then nearly as much as I appreciate it now ️; -
