@tayastarling : Day 2/100: I am happily finding myself in the most beautiful dilemma of having more than one happy thing to post per day, although I can't say I'm surprised. Let me explain what's happening here. This is a total creeper photo I took because it started out with the simple happiness of me having the time to sit and read for an hour today... But I fatefully sat down next to these two intriguing gentlemen. The older is an American- Canadian Vietnam War Veteran currently living & writing in Thailand while the younger is a half Thai recent college grad who has just moved back. The purpose of their coffee meeting was so the younger g could basically interview the older g about his life & historical experiences.... (& this is the most beautiful part) simply for knowledge's sake. This younger man simply wanted to know this older man's story for no other reason than the fact that it helped shape the world we live in today; or as he put it, the man's story is a part of why this young man is here, alive, today. The young g also said (& I lightly quote him), the older generation is dying off & their stories are dying with them. If we, the younger generations don't take the time or make the effort to learn these stories for ourselves, we and our future generations may never know where we came from. Bravo young g. Bravo. Ps. Sorry for being so creepy & unintentionally eavesdropping. #100HappyDays
