"BUSTER UPDATE: We wanted to give everyone an update on little Buster. Unfortunately, the original pin in his leg did not take and he had to be rushed to our vet over the weekend. The original pin had to be replaced and, so far, so good, but he is obviously in a lot of pain and in need of a lot of healing. He is being kept in the hospital on good meds and under close observation this week. We are still working on getting invoices to post (including vet information if you would like to donate directly), but we are continuing to accrue costs and are now pushing $2,000. We have created a YouCaring fundraiser to help recover some of these very-unexpected expenses, especially for our volunteer who rescued him from traffic and paid out of pocket. This handsome, loving 1.5 - 2 year old Chihuahua Mix was never redeemed by his owner’s girlfriend. Midnight lost his daddy to cancer last year & was left with his daddy’s friends who already had their own dog & never really made time to establish any sort of loving, caring relationship with Midnight. Midnight was discovered by his caring neighbors who hear him barking each time they walk past his temporary home, where he’s left outside behind a private wooden fence where he can’t see the outside world. Midnight weighs approximately 3-4 lbs.; he’s great with people (kids & adults) & other animals (dogs & cats). He is in desperate need of loving care & medical attention ASAP. Midnight had one vet visit last June 8th, 2014; he was given a DHP/Parvo shot, which is due again soon. He also needs his Rabies & Bordetella shots; the vet also recommended, last June, that Midnight needs to have blood work completed to test for liver shunt & a bile acid test to check his liver. Midnight needs help; he’s long overdue for his vaccines & recommended tests. He has not been altered yet; vet recommended neutering as well. Despite losing his daddy last year & never seeing his “mommy” again, Midnight still loves people; this little guy deserves a loving forever home.
