หลังจากมีกระแสการตื่นตัวการต่อต้านการกำจัดสุนัขที่เกาะคณฑี(ปากน้ำ) จ.ระนองช่วงต้นเดืินที่ผ่านมา โดยประชาชนทั่วไปที่ทราบข่าว ได้พากันต่อต้านจนนำไปสู่การระงับการกำจัดสุนัขจรจัดทั้งเกาะแล้วนั้น หลังจากนั้นดูเหมือนว่าปัญหาจะจบ แต่ความเป็นจริงหาเป็นเช่นนั้นไม่ เพราะจากการลงพื้นที่ พบว่าปัญหาที่แท้จริงเกิดจากปริมาณของสุนัขที่มีปริมาณมากจนล้นเกินพื้นที่เพียงไม่กี่ไร่ของเกาะ ซึ่งจากการสำรวจคร่าวๆพบว่าอาจจะมีสุนัขจรจัดถึง400-500 ตัว โดยสุนัขบางส่วนจะมีชาวบ้านนำอาหารมาให้ ทำให้ลดความก้าวร้าวหรือดุร้ายไปบ้าง แต่ขณะเดียวกันก็ยังมีสุนัขอีกกลุ่มซึ่งมีนิสัยดุร้ายและหิวโหย อาศัยหลบอยู่ในป่าชายเลนและในบ้านร้างซึ่งค่อนข้างหวาดกลัวผู้คน และเมื่อเวลาน้ำทะเลหนุนขึ้นสูง สุนัขพวกนี้ก็จะหนีน้ำมาอยู่แถวๆทางเดินในหมู่บ้าน และออกขโมยอาหารชาวบ้านในช่วงค่ำกินเพื่อประทังชีวิต เหตุการณ์ที่ทำให้ชาวบ้านเรียกร้องให้เทศบาลตำบลปากน้ำมากำจัดสุนัขเหล่านี้ก็คือ เมื่อไม่นานมานี้ได้มีเด็กผู้หญิงเดินมาซื้อขนมในร้านค้า เมื่อเดินทางกลับก็พบกับสุนัขที่หนีน้ำทะเลกลุ่มหนึ่งนอนตากแดดขวางทางอยู่ ด้วยความหิวโหย สุนัขเลยกระโจนใส่เด็ก ทำให้เด็กได้รับบาดเจ็บ และประกอบกับช่วงนี้มีสุนัขแม่ลูกอ่อนหลายตัวมีอาการดุร้ายเพราะห่วงลูกอ่อน ทำไห้ชาวบ้านที่สัญจรบนเกาะต้องถือไม้เป็นอาวุธป้องกันตัวตลอดเวลา เลยทำให้ชาวบ้านหมดความอดทน!!! ที่ผ่านมาได้มีหลายฝ่ายลงพื้นที่ไปพยายามจะแก้ปัญหาแต่ขาดความเข้าใจในปัญหาเลยทำให้ชาวบ้านมีอาการต่อต้าน โดยชาวบ้านมีความห่วงใยในความปลอดภัยของชีวิตลูกหลานและเด็กๆบนเกาะมากกว่า !!!
