@bryceyoga : Day 2 of #FitFlowChallenge is a jump squat. It was my bestie @mackenzieyoga who taught me how to do this correctly in order to keep my knees safe. To perform a jump squat you start with your feet hips width apart, bend your knees as you sit the hips back and down, and jump explosively into the air. When you land, go back the same way you came and distribute the weight from the ball of the foot to the heal. Then you'll be ready to explode off the ball the foot again. In yoga we never use our calves and definitely not explosively. So, if you’re new to explosive movement don’t be shocked if your calves are super sore tomorrow!! I love to pair this workout with my favorite upbeat tunes too! You'd be surprised at what @mackenzieyoga and I listen to when we're together. The last time she was in LA, we rapped (a product of growing up in the early 90's) to 'Regulators' by Warren G and Nate Dog. It was hilarious to say the least.
