@djpoom : Coming up to the Burj Khalifa the tallest building in the world today and seeing the view of Dubai... The first thing that springs to mind was "Very average view... Boring looking city with some very stupidly wasteful investment projects". Such as the man made islands, ski domes in the deserts, worlds largest.. Worlds most expensive that and this. But when u hear the stories, the visions and the prosperity it has brought back to the people you'd realized that "maybe I was the stupid one to judge". Dubai now has established it self amongst the worlds elites in terms of living standards. The Oil money surprisingly only equates to about 5% of the income... It makes its money through Tourism, Aerospace industry and being the trading and financial center of the Middle East. Seeing this almost boring looking city with all the extravaganzas I now realized how far they have come from a barren desert land not to long ago... To becoming a prosperous City and an international media's favorite. Not boring/ wasteful/ stupid... But quite simply amazing... Good job Dubai. The World... People... Personalities... They have all been through things we have not been through... Therefor they will have reasons for the way they are... Reasons we will never fully understand. So before we pass on judgements...
