Countries that are gender-equal are countries where everyone enjoys equal rights. Women in a gender-equal society don’t have to live in fear of being raped, forced into prostitution, trafficked, and beaten by their husbands or family members.
In a gender-equal world, women and men get the same amount of pay for the same job, and men share the responsibility of housework and childcare so women are able to pursue their dreams and careers too.
In households where both parents treat each other as equal, children grow up healthier and happier. If their fathers treat their mothers with respect, boys will follow the lead when they become adults and treat their wives or partners with respect as well.
