@pop_areeya : Two days ago on Saturday, I went to Make Friends Yoga on Silom Soi 9 and practice with 3 different yoga teachers. I was looking for teachers to come do workshop in my neighborhood. One of the thing about being a teacher is how much pressure one should put on a student for adjustment. Like everything in life it's about balance, too little energy there's no substance, too much can lead to injury like this 2 day bruise I'm sporting on my arm. I was doing the Ardha Matsyendrasana, (half spine twist) but going deeper with hands clasp behind the knees and to top it off a very strong 60-year-old female teacher pushing me deeper with her hands against my arms. I was in pain from being rubbed so hard, and this is where I was prideful and stupid. I was too afraid to say Ouch! Stop! Be gentle! I was trying to breath deeply, with my eyes close and tears bursting out running into my sweat, I didn't want to offend her with my inability to withstand pain - again prideful and stupid on my part. And I didn't want everyone to think I was weak. I learned my lesson: know my own body, speak my mind and be safe. There are good pain, the Ohhhh-Yes-I-want-more, kinda pain (actually I like to use the word 'opening', not pain), then there's the Ouch! that's-going-to-bruise-or-break-me pain. Know the difference and avoid injury. Yoga should be fun and energizing after all. #yogabypop
